Here at Lil Goats of The
Texas Coastal Bend, we are
dedicated to raising small, colorful goats to be sold as pets. All
little ones are 1/2 African Pygmy and 1/2 Nigerian Dwarf unless
otherwise noted.
All bucklings will be sold as bottle baby weaned weathers for $85.00 if they are not purchased at their listed price within 30 days of birth. A $42.50 refundable deposit will be accepted on the bucklings.
All kids will be disbudded (dehorned), dewormed and their hooves
trimmed at time of weaning.
You may put a hold on a kid by informing me that you will send 50% of
the purchase price. This includes wethers, does and bucks. ($42.50 on
the wethers)
All does will be kept with their moms for 8 weeks,
unless you request
and pick up bottle babies within 7 days of their birth. Raising bottle
babies takes a large commitment, and so it is a rewarding experience.
My bottle babies are very affectionate and made excellent mothers and
fathers. Proven directions will be included.
Before accepting your goats, you need to make sure your pen is
adequate. If there is a way out, either over, under or through, the
goats will find it. And if there is a way in for predators, they may
also find it.
It is a good idea to keep does and bucks separate until you want to
breed them. Does should be at least 9 months old before they are bred,
or they or their kids may not make it.
Goats are herd animals, and there should be at least
two goats to make a herd. Also know that goats and most dogs
do not mix. A dog, in playing, can chase a goat to death.
